About

Bodhi Day

This site shares Reverend Dukkha Hanamoku’s and Mrs. Hanamoku’s joy of Bodhi Day with everyone, as well as many Zen topics. Here are recent or upcoming Bodhi Days:

  • December 8, 2025 – “Secular”, standardized Bodhi Day, celebrated mostly in Japan and most of the West.
  • January 26, 2026 – The Lunar Bodhi day. This is the 8th day of the 12th month of the current Chinese/Lunar New Year.

Fishnu.org – The Eternal Fishnu and The Rubber Ducky Buddha of Joliet

Fishnu.org is a sister site to bodhiday.org. It is geared towards the The Zen Teachings of the Eternal Fishnu. The intent for having two sites is to separate the community of Bodhi Day celebration from the more instructional Zen teachings of The Eternal Fishnu.

Same Light, Different Lamp

At BodhiDay.org, interfaith respect is at the heart of our shared journey toward wisdom and compassion. We celebrate the profound truth that all paths—whether rooted in Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Bahá’í, or any other tradition—emanate from the same eternal light, merely expressed through different lamps. Here, we explore Buddhist/Zen insights not as a rigid religion demanding allegiance, but as timeless philosophy open to everyone, regardless of background or belief. These reflections on impermanence, mindfulness, and interconnectedness invite you to draw what resonates, blending them freely with your own spiritual heritage. Our aim is harmony with all sentient beings and our inner peace.

Faith and Patience to You!

Reverend Dukkha Hanamoku
